Prior to July 2005 we had hardly ever seen an American RV on British road’s, never been inside one and never in a million years dreamt in owning one.

It’s now May 2009, we are in our 18th month of touring the USA & Canada in our Fleetwood Discovery A class diesel pusher RV that we are both proud of.:thumb:

Why do we wish to join any of the RV, manufacturer/ owner forums on the internet?
Simple, to continue to enjoy our RV and keep it in good working order, to learn of ways and tips of rectifying any know faults and to learn of suitable sized camp grounds that welcome these large American sized vehicles.

What I hope to see when I sign up with these forums and clubs is specific details for our RV year and model, part numbers and availability BOTH in the USA and UK and from which dealers.

I have already had a bad experience of the above when I joined an owners club where most time when you write in asking about a problem or part for your RV the only reply back is to “Contact Fleetwood they will tell you” What is the point of having a club dedicated solely for one model from the Fleetwood fleet of RVs?

Cost to join is $20 with a $16 annual renewal charge so you would expect a more organized and informative site than one run by someone for free, especially since it has been run for the past 10 years, hence my dissatisfaction, but you join and I will continue to renew in the hope that things improve.

A further problem is the number of RV or RV (Motor home) related forums on the Internet which contain the same or similar thread /topic headings. Members soon see the same user name writing in again and again, so why do we join ALL of these forums?

I can only speak for myself and believe that not everyone joins ALL and it may be THAT PERSON who may just know the answer to my problem who only subscribes to just one forum.

Well, that’s why I subscribe to 12 plus RV related forums, why do you?:thanks:

Mick

:whatthe: Why did I start joining Forums and in particular RV Forums in the UK and the USA? I was sick and tired of being ripped off by so-called RV specialists. After having spent a boat load of money and still having some BIG problems, I started searching the Internet and came across some US RV Forums. I searched for a particular fault and it took me 5 minutes to find what it took ONE specialist 3.5 days and a matter of changing EVERYTHING before they had found the problem and fix it. :Eeek:
I then found that I could find most of the problem fixes via these Forums. I also decided that UK RV'ers may also need the kind of information that we needed and so passed on the information as and when required to the UK Forums. :thumb:
