We only fly flags at shows where we are rooted for a few days so we can find the van and, as said on the personalised number thread, because we can. :) Oh yes, we bought crocs at the NEC in October, easy to slip on when you have to nip out with the dog first thing or the cassette even.

how do they fix firmly into the ground, do you need a spike thing to fix them in to? attached my pole flying a colourful dragon windsock to the wing mirror at a festival once with a bungee strap and someone pinched the whole thing during the night..:(

love seeing all the different flags flying, 'tis fun, but don't need it to find my little van, being red it stands out like a sore thumb amongst all the posh white ones..

Hi Dryad, if you get a flag pole they are hollow... What I do is hammer (weakly!!!) a wooden pole such as the ones on a broom handle, or a windbreak, into the ground. Slide the hollow flag pole over it. :)

Havn't checked all the posts on the thread so apologies if someone already said this. :)

You buy a spike to hammer into the ground and the flag pole slips over it.
Do it right next to the EHU and there is a good chance the pole will light up at night. Deters people from stealing it too.

I thought we were talking about Crocs, not the effects of aging :LOL:

Never could get away with wearing flip flops. They are either uncomfortable, fall off or both :D
That's why Trafico fine you if driving in them .:) Doesn't apply if on M/bike.
At least with crocs you can flip the strap down & slip foot in before stopping.(y)

A bit like the why do you like aires thread, why on earth would you want to erect a flagpole and fly a flag of any kind?
I've seen some weird stuff like a jolly rodger (pirates - has connotations with swingers) plus the usual national flags
I'm sure someone can tell me whats so appealing......

We fly a "fun" flag and a union jack with a fun smiley in it..
We fly them so we can light the pole up.. Find the van... And mainly because it's fun.. Its a fun thing to do.

Perhaps those who don't like flags flying should fly a flag that says, " I DON'T LIKE FLAGS"

I got all excited when Jim said he had more Fun flags for sale, but Him Indoors said in his quiet voice "I'd rather not..." (which means, If you're having one of those you're on your own).
Why? Just a bit of fun. Wanting to be sociable. Talking point.
Why not? Grumpy old sod. Shy.

I think they look great all flying over the van at a big show like Malvern or Peterborough.

But who cares what I think.
