Brilliant use of smilies Bill! You don't need words.
But living in South Devon we stay at home on Bank Holidays, too much hassle to go anywhere local.

Free camping Burnham on crouch - the field behind the dinghy park complete with EHU. Downside is I'm expected to be trolley dolly helping the others launch and recover their boats. They're all friends anyway so hardly a chore....

Portobello ---one of my favourite places ever. House sat nr Falkirk one winter, snow on the ground for weeks. Always seemed to be sunny when I drove to Portobello. Dogs ran on the beach, even ventured into the water a bit, then as soon as we left the beach we were walking on snow/ice again.

There's a few good wild camping spots around Norfolk, but even they double their price for bank holidays!

Just dropped son and girlfriend off in van at Bristol Airport for a week in Paris, carrying on down M5 for couple of days in South Devon. Not really free camping but Britstops in Stokenham tonight and who knows tomorrow?!
