Hi

I renewed with Comfort Insurance recently - £299 including European breakdown insurance. Being somewhat old and cynical I don't tend to take much notice of all these 20% discount etc claims, its only the final price that counts.

I could have shopped around I suppose but its such a pain typing in your details over and over again I didn't bother. £299 seems okay to me anyway.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating! Claimed for my Autocruise written off in Germany in 2009. Paid out £27000 very quickly which was full amount insured and payed out on damaged contents and other expenses not long after. No good getting insurance cheap if they make you jump through hoops to claim. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR, the same as you do when buying a motorhome. BUSBY:roflmto:

2nd year with safeguard. :thumb:

was with NFU but they seriously upped the premium and stopped taking new business on RV's....obviously pulling out of RV insurance and the easy way is become uncompetitive.

We have alternated every year between Safeguard and the Caravan Club - seems to get us the best deal. However, touch wood!, never have made a claim.

Still only a year after many years camping
We've just gone with Safeguard.

...having been refused insurance with Comfort following moving storage to a non-cassoa registered facility.

Was with safeguard for 12 years.... Had 1 big claim where the van got hit by joyriders.. Big repair but all sorted... Had to use the breakdown twice, Germany and Spain.. Both times no issues..

I only moved this year to MHF insurance (Aviva policy same as comfort) because the include a claim back for breakdown costs for Morocco....

11th year with Safeguard. Find them very helpful and they also provide 365 days European cover which from this year is a must for us.

I`m a newbie, now 1 year
I`m with Herts, only had MH last year, haven`t claimed so do know how they would be.

Hubby has the caravan insured through The Caravan and Camping club, new for old, when the caravan was written off last year in the hail stone storm on the 28th June, they paid out, had to have a new caravan and pay a bit more as the price we got was the full price of the damaged caravan when new, if we hadn`t had a new caravan we would have got less than half. so happy with the C &CC

We've been with Safeguard for 6 or 7 years and they were really great when someone reversed into the side of the Elddis when it was new:cry:
So more than happy to recommend Safeguard:thumb:

I was with Frank Pickles last year.

Would have renewed with them this year too, only they couldn't do me European breakdown on a van of our age.

Now with C&CC insurance. About same price as Frank Pickles could find me, plus Euro breakdown.

I think that both Frank Pickles and Comfort are 'owned' by a Victor Millwell ?
