The marina car park has only ever allowed 24 hour parking, not habitation. People have got away with it in the past because of lack of enforcement. The change is that it (and other restrictions throughout Scarborough borough, including on-street) will be more pro-actively enforced. In future the only legal way to overnight in Whitby centre will be when there is a meet/THS on.

Hi Brian last time we were there the attendant told me that they can now enforce the no camping , where before they basically couldn't:Smile: If you shut your van up at night and don't answer any knockers, they still cannot enforce this ::bigsmile:Only if you answer the door etc, can they then prove you are camping/overnight staying ::bigsmile:Plenty of room on the moors :winky::thumb:

Looking back at the previous threads I think the new restrictions will get over any need to prove habitation by banning all motorhome parking in designated areas between 11pm and 7am.
As Terry says, look to the moors

What about the A174 road at Sansend there are lots of places on the road side large enough for you to stop, I think most of the Camp sites in the area will be closed for the winter.
You could always try asking in one of the pubs
There is The Grapes on the A171 near Scaling Dam

Ugthorpe lodge on the a171 is a caravan park.

If all else fails the top of Blue Bank outside Sleights has good views of Whitby.

Good Luck
