We've had all the record questions

Which record reduces you to tears

not because it was crap

But the words and structure of them

Mine is cats in the cradle

Was on a team bonding course in Brighton without a choice of no :Eeek:
Every employee had to attend
This record was played we had just been nearly indoctrinated in my opinion

This was the week beckham kicked another player in a footy match
1996 I think

Anyway here is the song what was is yours

Remember not bad songs but ones that reduce you to tears

Because it reminds me of my grandad, the most special person I have ever known
One of his favourite films and lost count of the number of times we watched it together.
I loved him completely, he cared for me when I was little and I cared for him until his last day.

Bright Eyes by Art Garunkel because it always reminds me of Sharif, my beautiful saluki dog, who died 30 years ago. I will never forget him.

Once, twice, three times a lady. The Commodores.
This was at number one when my mum collapsed, and died in my arms, at my house.
She was 59, I was 28.
I cannot listen to that playing at all.

Not sure how to do the link ( tears aren't helping either ! ) but the theme tune from The Virginian just takes me back to watching it on an old black and white tv with my Dad. Played it at his funeral and I wasn't the only one blubbing

I think this is the best anti war song ever, if that's not a contradiction in terms

Reminds me of being 10 years old and my Mum sobbing when this song came on the radio. My Dad and Sister had just been hospitalised with TB and spent 6 months there. Always moves me.

The Gael ( last of the Mohicans) it was played by the band of the Royal Marines on the day my youngest became a Royal Marine just over a year ago. Every time I hear it I get a lump in my throat.

I totally agree about these two, and also 'Love of My Life' by Queen, 'Softly as I leave you', By Matt Munro, 'When I fall in love', by Nat King Cole, 'God Only Knows' by the Beach Boys, I could find more but its just TOOOOO Sad!

Song choice

Someone on here the other day mentioned Dylan,as in,why? To me,his "Every Grain Of Sand"ticks the box.An obscure track on a maybe very little loved 1980 album. In fact,it's the last track.A song about a man looking on his life and human redemption. The harmonica solos are the finest you will ever hear and possibly more moving than the lyrics.Peter Buck said it was also the inspiration for REM's "Everybody Hurts",hence v.similar melody.
