Varta and Bosch are the same battery. The ABS one will be fine, I have used these before. They have a similar guarantee IIRC.

Thanks guys.

According to the specs the Varta has 95 ampere hours, the Bosch and ABS ones have 100 ah. Is there a substantial difference in practice?

In theory, it means you will power for a couple of hours longer, depending on what you have plugged in. For example; run a lap-top will be under 1 amp (5 hrs), a hair drier would be 5 amp (1 hr) Due to the drain that the whole van would take, the difference in the length of time you would gain would be minimal.

In practice, manufacturers can label battery power as they wish, so long as they are not OVER stating capacity. You often find brands of leisure battery that are sold as 95ah but are actually 100ah with a 95ah label. They do this as it is cheaper to buy in larger orders of 110's than a number of one and a number of other.

The Varta and Bosch are the same battery - whichever you choose, they will be identical! They are made in the same factory since 1992 when they combined as VB{VARTA-BOSCH} Autobatterie GmbH
