I have just uprated our MH from 3500kg to 3850kg and should receive back the V5 in the next few weeks.
In the mean time i am going online to the DVLA ( Northern Ireland ) website to book the MOT ( which is due at the start of June ) when it dawned on me which test do i choose now with the new weight ? ( surely its still light goods ? and not the same test as a lorry ) , here are the options listed :

Private Car
Light Goods (Gross weight less than or equal to 3500kg)
Motorcycle (Up to and including 200cc)
Motorcycle (Over 200cc)
Tricycle
Heavy Goods (Gross weight over 3500kg)
Trailer
Bus

SAME AS BEFORE... MOT on motorcaravans is same as car.. Class 4..

HOWEVER... Best to check they have the space (height) and weight capacity... Some private one's dont, not sure on the place you are thinking of using.

not long enough
our MH is called a PHGV on the V5

not sure if that is because it is above 3.5T, it was manufactured as that not uprated

but MOT as Tonka says, unchanged :)(y)

Yes I had an 11 ton RV it only required a Class IV but it needs to go to an MOT test centre that can take coaches and trucks.

Thanks all , glad to hear its a normal test.. phew !!!! :)

Re the test place being able to accommodate the large motorhome , that is not a problem as here in Northern Ireland you can only MOT your vehicle at dedicated DVLA test centers.

many motor homes do tec have the wrong mot . if carrying bikes /m,bikes or boats etc in a garage or load are they are really no longer m,homes but living vans .
luckily vosa as was dont care about it .
the irish vosa used to say two bicycles in the garage and it wasnt a motor home .
