Hi general collective,

I am looking to possibly buy a Hymer that has twin rear beds, over cab double and a good social seating area
Can anyone point me in the direction of a page that shows all the different layouts or suggest which model I can google please:)

budget circa £50k, second hand

Having searched already I can only find new one's which are a little over budget:cry:

thanks in advance

not long enough
I doubt you will be able to find twin rear beds and a good social seating without going 9m +, I don't think Hymer make anything that long

We have a 800s, (8m) I describe it as an inverse tardis, by which I mean it looks huge outside and tiny inside and we have a transverse bed

Hymer brochure?

More recent models are I believe 678, 778, 878 and 680 but there may be more.

Very few about even in Germany especially in your price bracket!

We've got a 2004 Starline 680 and have looked at the newer models with the twin bed arrangements and whilst I love the look of the bedroom, the lounge is definitely not as big as it looks in the brochure!

Have a look here for a brochure showing the new models. Their range does not change too much year on year so will give you an idea of what models to search for. We have the B678, which may suit you - 7.5m long with twin beds at the rear, large garage, drop down bed at the front and we can sit 6 in the lounge. Not sure how old it would need to be to meet your budget though.

If you want to import I should wait a while for the pound to improve from its current 1.20 Euros = £1 as it was over 1:40 not so many months ago!

I reckon that a lot of the current fluctuations in currency and stock exchange are because companies/speculators expected to remain and bought forward contracts on that basis either speculating or trying to control their currency exposure in the future. The result is different and many will have to get out of or change their positions causing deals that involve selling pounds and so the pound weakens as a result. As usual, panic, the press, political back stabbing is all adding to the issues and uncertainty and no doubt there will be quite a few dealers making a killing as result! I have resolved to wait a year and to review in the spring next year.
