I'm looking to get some bluetooth speakers. Happy to spend some money if it's worth it. Going to pop into the B&O shop tomorrow... could be dangerous! Any ideas? What do you guys use? Sound quality is important!

Looking the prices of some of the B&O stuff, I think I might not go in to the shop tomorrow. Maybe it was Bose I was thinking of!

Bose mini fantastic for the van if your TV transmits Bluetooth great link up. If tv has no blue tooth you can link with aux cable

Great link for the iPhone for your music. If you know someone heading to Gibraltar you will pick up it for £115

We bought some Sonos wireless speakers a few months ago.
Blown away by the quality of the sound and the build.
We use ours as a TV sound system and also to play music direct from my IPhone
Not cheap, but the best things in life never are.

Being a bit of a cheapskate, I got two of these..

They connect brilliantly to iPod and iPhone, even down to being able to use in the shower as a phone..
Stick it on an MH window and you get great base....
Also, can afford to lose it or have it nicked..

I have one of these, great size, recharges and lasts a good 12 hours, Bluetooth as well as small jack phone socket, awesome 360 degree sound.

Can be heard on most campsites:p

If you meant a portable Bluetooth speaker for the van the a Bose Soundlink Mini takes a lot of beating.

I've got Sonos at home as well. Brilliant kit.

Portable is what I'm after, rechargeable as well. I'm guessing most will have 240v chargers rather than USB? Will be off grid at times so might need an inverter....

You can also get a bluetooth Tx that plugs into your TV headphone socket so you can play TV via Bluetooth Speakers

Bose are (IMHO) overpriced, especially their BT offerings. For most people playing low quality MP3s and the like it really isn't worth it anyway. Some of the Cambridge BT speakers from Richersounds are just as good for a quarter the price (y) :)

Forget about Sonos if you're looking for something for the van.

I agree with the others, it's a cracking bit of kit for home and I've recently installed a Playbar, Sub and a pair of Play 3s in the living room, with a pair of 1s in the bedroom and a second pair on order for the kitchen.

Sonos have just got a lot more expensive after quite a price hike that came in today.

Many years
After a lot of research, I finally settled on a Bose SoundLink Colour Bluetooth Speaker.

Utterly superb, about 100 quid or perhaps a bit less.
Awesome sound, very very long battery life, recharges via micro-usb.
For superb quality sound in such a small and easily portable package I have not seen better at anywhere near that price.

I bought ours in theory just for use in/around the motorhome, but am so happy with it that we use it in the house too.
Very highly recommended.

I tend to listen mostly to classical music and the recordings are mostly WAV or AIFF because it sounds better. I'll let my ears decide if it's worth it. No point spending that much money if not. And I'd rather go without if it sounds awful!

Converted a Fiat Ducato PV a while back
A lot of these mini speakers have circuitry that uses physco-acoustical compression and other rubbish that will ruin you audio experience especially if you are a serious classical listener. They boost the bass, raise the treble etc suppress the mids, think about the physical size of the speaker. They are just not tailored to proper music. They are an acoustical con. But if you are beguiled by the first couple of listenings, as they say, what ever floats your boat.

The size of the speakers, the distance apart, etc, etc it all makes a difference. Many years ago I had a home studio so have a bit of understanding. I'm not expecting reference quality, but hopefully I can find something I'll enjoy listening too. Maybe I'll put a sub in the wardrobe - that would be interesting
