I'm always looking for somewhere to stop and put the kettle on. I travel on the A470 through the Brecons quite regularly and there are tons of places to stop and no matter what the weather, or how much of a hurry I'm in, I always stop.

I stopped for a cuppa here on Monday, and climbed the bank opposite to get a pic of my 320 watts of solar panels:Smile:

Stopping somewhere with a bit of a view and having a cup of tea is a delight that even after years of motorhoming I never tire of. Is there a road you travel where you just have to stop and have a brew?

Yes Jim :thumb:That is one of a couple of car parks within a mile of each other looking out over Whitby and the sea :thumb:If you carry on to the top of the hill and turn right towards Gothland (Heartbeat) there is a great wild camping spot looking down towards Gothland :thumb:

There is an aire near Carcasson (sic) that you can pull into and get a great view of the town below. Stopped there about 5 times now en route to Spain.

That is a lovely spot! Stopped there a few years back, only spoiled by the lovely children of Merthyr throwing bricks as you passed!:ROFLMAO:

They have hopefully grown up now....and stopped throwing bricks!::bigsmile:

One view I miss from the Weymouth area http://www.flickr.com/photos/paulinuk99999/3963321112/

Always like to stop and look there!

I think its a bit too far into the Beacons for many from Merthyr, considering the claim that 60+% are on incapacity. :ROFLMAO:

I think I came down the wrong end like a tourist would, through a dodgy looking estate.....and got stoned (although not in the same way the locals did! :ROFLMAO:)

It is nice up there!

That was near brecon too, not a bad little site - looked a little iffy at first, but we had a pitch on a plateau to ourselves with a good view!:thumb:

Cripes, that came out a bit big! Sorry guys!

The A4059 which climbs up above the view you show so you can look down the valley towards the spot wherre you took your photo is also a beautiful spot, if you haven't been up there.
(I think it's the Hirwaun road)

I will find out what the name was - can remember it being a welsh name, but my brain was fried after spending a week driving round wales trying to pronounce them!::bigsmile:

There your go!...not even welsh! Anchorage, at Bronllys, brecon

There are no hardstandings - he originally put me on this spit of concrete 'because i was a motorhome' (I was in a 20 footer that was too long and scraped my tail) until i nearly left...then he offered the plateau, which was excellent, even if you did need a reverse entry at speed! Glad I stayed!

The plateau was originally designed for tents - but he had the same problem as Jim on his site...build it and the spring will come! So it turned out too wet for tents when raining.....bonus for us!:thumb:
