Certainly was, we have never ridden there before. It was a brilliant day. It hammered down on Saturday and the track was absolutely perfect on Sunday.

This is me on the side a couple of years back at Owselbury

He rides a modern Yz 125 and an Evo 1987 250 Kawasaki. You sidecar guys must have balls of steel to do that. Impressive stuff. I have been involved with mx for for over 30 years..brother used to race solos, met hubby through the Purbeck AMCA , all 3 kids raced and hubby still racing. Can't think of a better way to spend a weekend.

Tomorrow Going back to visit the Berghoff and the bunker, it was too hot last time. That Jenner cable car is very old school a lot of manual pushing and pulling about of the small cars, at the stations then a fairly rapid ejection into 1800 meters above sea level....... wow

Sitting in Pontorson, cycled up to the coast watched some tremendous lightening over Cancale. Hot and sticky so the pool seems favourite now. Probably wander down to Parc Verger in a few days, hard this retirement.

On a site. Which 100yrs ago today was no mans land...
On thursday we will be at the spot where my great grandfather (38yrs old), my great uncle (both cheshire regiment) my wifes grandfather (16yrs old) and great uncle (20yrs old) ( both in london regiments) all went over the top with the 56th london division for the 2nd time in the battle of the somme. First time was at gommercourt.

Only found out in the last few weeks that they were all in the same place. And all survived the war.

Still based at St Suliac on the river Rance just south of St Malo and really looking forward to yet another pot of moules today (the curry flavoured ones are much much nicer than they sound).
Big storm during the night and the humidity of the last few days seems to have gone.
I might even attempt, for the second time this trip, that long cobbled climb from Dinan riverside up to the old town - that familiar burning sensation in your calf muscles.

Safe and sound thanks! Great walk in the hills, not too much sun (relief) until right back down. I did yodel, for want of anything better to try, from that viewpoint as you were sat outside your van, no response from yourselves, Bob or any dogs come to that
Got up early again this morning, a shorter walk but up to a summit, no view because of the trees, that's woods for you. Not a soul about either.
