wheel nut caps

    Hope you can help.I need to remove the chromed plastic caps from the wheel nuts, the tool supplied is useless the only thing i have managed to remove with the tool is the skin from my fingers.Hope my fellow funsters can help.

    I agree.. I use a couple of screwdrivers.. one on each side.. They pop off nice and easy :)

    Before fitting mine I had read that water gets trapped and accelerates corrosion which makes them very tight. I used a waterproof bicycle bearing grease from Halfords

    Try a pair of the old fashioned "Pincers" if you can open the jaws far enough to get behind the cover it should work

    Thanks guys got the bloody things of after about an hour trying to prise them of without damaging the alloys. now refitted using grease thank's for all your help.

    I used copper grease on mine and they now pull off very easily.
