I'm surprised that nobody has suggested roadkill yet!

We have a box of those "look what I found" (i think thats what they are called anyway) such meals, they are actually quite good although portion size isn't great but we use 3 between 2 of us

We have always carried Fray Bentos pies, but iv learnt alot from this thread.
Such as currys and stews in a tin with boil in a bag rice or tin potatoes!:)

Im off solo down to the Med the end of the month,so I have stocked up with
lots of tins of all sorts so I will be prepared.

Also I dont know if we have been unlucky, but we struggle to find restaurants open
in the evening as we travel south as its usually Easter.
Once on the Med theres always restaurants a plenty though.:)

I didn't say I liked them, they are just there at the bottom of the cupboard in the van . You can use the to level up a table leg on an uneven site, etc. I got ours from my late brother's cupboard when clearing out the house, along with tins of things and packets of dry goods with best before 1988 etc.

just been shopping with her who must be obeyed and I said we need to get some basics for the van plus our go to meal when we run out - which isn't very often but it is always nice to have something in.

which got me thinking "what does everybody else do ?"

anyway our backup is real simple but enjoyable probably because of that....

corned beef, beans and tinned potatoes - a la cornedbeef hash.

obviously it takes time to select a good wine to go with it and I have been known to spend more than ÂŁ2.50 on a full bottle - occasionally!(Yorkshire born and bred)

so what's yours ??

I am preparing for when I buy my MH in May, by 'stocking up' on easy food lol I have tins of beef bourginon, chicken in white wine sauce, loads of super noodles ( add half a tin of bacon grill out a tin,) cooked rice, tins of mushrooms, potato's, eazy onions ( 67p for a big tin) tins of hamburgers, & hot dogs. The list goes on! lol Certainly wont starve!! lol

Didn't realise you can get tinned onions, will have to keep a look out.
Sounds like you will be covered for even a Zombie Apocalypse :)

They'll last for years, just don't try and eat them.

Oh hang on, that's the same advice for when they are new. :)

A jar of Bolognese sauce and spaghetti. With a bottle of red wine of course.
