What is your favourite wine at the moment and why? Ours is Mcguigans red £10 for 2 bottles at the moment, the one that doesn't describe the the grape type on the label. Second bottle has just disappeared:BigGrin::BigGrin:

Bud, Fosters and Carling..... Oops, not wines are they

had a glass of free 'champagne' at the chinese reasteraunts 'new year' party the other night.

no idea what it was, but tasted like the syrup found in a tin of cling peach's...so thick and sweet it was undrinkable

Try the Tesco own brand "Palomino" it's a white wine from the Cadiz Province made from the Palomino grape that is used to make many varieties of Sherry. Much better than Chardonnay etc! Sometimes on offer as 2 for £10. :thumb::thumb:

Over here in Spain it is made by Antonio Barbadillo - not found it in UK but the Tesco version is by them but under the Tesco label!
    Very drinkable!

Just had a trip around a Sherry Bodega today - very interesting and totally different to wine making. This was the Gutierrez Colisia Bodega which is in El Puerto de Santa Maria near Cadiz. Family owned and very informative - better than Tio Pepe et al which are a bit commercialised

We got a bottle of McGuigans is Sainsburys a while back and it was lovely!:thumb:
We only drink red, (soft and fruity), and sometimes buy the Cuvee Prestige from Tesco......it's easy on the palate too.

However, we decided to buy a couple of crates before Christmas, the first lot came from Naked Wines (all reds), because the caravan club had a voucher in it a couple of months back. I think these were around £45 plus delivery, but I wouldn't buy any more from them.
The second lot was from Laithwaites (£39.99) plus £6.99 for delivery.
This lot from Laithwaites were great! There was only one that was "average", so we would certainly use Laithwaites again:thumb:
The good thing is that we still have one bottle left as well..........not sure how we've managed to keep that one unopened since Christmas though:Laughing:

Just discovered a nice sweet wine in France
    Le petit Saint Louis 2010
Chateau de Montgueret , Val de Loire

I'm not a wine drinker, but this one may well convert me:beerchug:
Sadly i cant get it over here anywhere , so it may well be a case of getting done for vehicle overloading next time I come back from France

Last summer we drove across Spain from Bilbao. First night we stopped at the site in Navarette. In the office they were selling the local red wine which was a Rioja and called (imaginatively) Navarette. It was about 3 Euros per bottle.

I bought 3 just in case I liked it. Boy did I like it:thumb:

Not sure how well it would travel, but in Spain it tasted fab.
