Hiya Funsters, can someone please tell me what this device is? It's located next to our Inverter. In our lounge there is a remote on/off switch for the inverter. Why would you need to use that? I though the inverter did its job and inverted as required by a particular device/socket. Am I wrong, again?

It looks like a water filter ... has it got any markings and is it connected to pipes or cables?

If you leave your inverter on while not in use it still uses some power don't know how much

Looks like an accumulator to me......The air in it keeps the system water pressurised, (from the pump to the taps/outlets), so the pump dosent keep pressurising the system.

It's a Dingle Dangler for holding the left over power from the inverter when the solar is not feeding the air supply to the batteries. Very rare item. o_O

Damn, damn damn and double damn.

All because we cycled to the front in the steaming hot midday sure for a small beer to cool use down.

It looks like it's to do with the water system something like Tootsy suggests.

    Enough of this frivolity...

As has been said.... Its a surge damper which helps to provide a smooth water flow by reducing pulsation and system noise, inside there is a pressurised rubber bladder.

Essentially it adds volume to the system and helps smooth out the pressure pulses from the pump..

this is the Whale model ..

Aye, it's a surge damper and something I'm going to fit to our van when I get back home as my cold taps make the pump jump and bang like a randy kangaroo.

You're a sarcastic bunch I'll give you that. I do regret asking but at least I now know what a Surge damper is. Thank you for all contributions.

We have one fitted to our van, it stops the pump running on and / or chattering when you turn the taps off.
