Parked for a day yesterday on a massive site in Spain. I was having a cycle around looking for Funster stickers but mostly being nosey; when I noticed a massive fifth wheel barely wedged into a plot. Almost flush with the road so vehicles pass just inches away from the bedroom window . On the business side of the Fiver there wasn’t much pitch left, but a bit of decking and a pair of wicker chairs completed the set up. Their outlook was over waste ground through a chain link fence just a few feet away. While this would be hell on earth for me, there, almost as big as the bedroom window, was a sticker, proudly proclaiming "Living the Dream"

I didn't speak to these people, nor know anything of their personal circumstances; that plot might well have been heaven compared to where they'd come from and while their dream certainly wasn't mine, they may well be living their dream. Dreams are personal, and thankfully very different :)

What is/would be "living the dream" for you

I'm living my dream each and every day being close to my family and friends and having enough in my bank account for a few pleasures. I think some of these people missed out during their youth somehow. Another one is "spending the kids inheritance":)

I'm in heaven eating hot fresh grilled sardines on/next to a Greek beach with a glass of cold white wine. Warm sea breeze, endless blue sky................and relax

Living the dream for me is waking up, in a place I want to be, next to the person I love.
A wise person once told me that happiness is not a destination, but the route you take in life.

Living the dream for me is being able to do what you want, whenever you want. These two entities do not come together everyday, so not everyday is living the dream, but if it happens more often than not then you are on to a winner.

That pitch with the 5th wheeler on sounds horrible to me, but each to their own. This morning we are tucked up in our van as there is a very cold wind blowing, but have a glourious view over the Sierra Espuna national park. Yesterday we did a 6/7 mile walk through the park, followed by a slap up lunch and a couple of glasses of wine. It was hill, my legs ache this morning and I have a huge blister on my heel, but that is certainly my version of 'Living the Dream'.

Personally I love being free from someone else's agenda, any choices I/we make are ours, even if they turn out to be duff ones.

waking up warm, cosy, loved, well fed, healthy, peaceful and knowing that tomorrow ( at least) will be the same. With the prospect of travel being on the horizon. :)

We don't live a dream, just live to enjoy life (what's left of it).
Many people tell you they are living the dream as though they are looking for some form of acceptance, very much like plastering it all over the back of there 'dream machine'.
That's not for me, but we are all different and I am no different to many.
We do what we want when we want and and what other people think of what we do we have no control over.
Just to wake each morning and know you have another day is as good as it gets.

Exactly where I am now. Having breakfast on the balcony, looking out to sea :)

The only choice I have to make, is which beach to walk the dog on :)

Living the Dream? A combination of many things falling right to enable us to do what we want when we want, and not always involving the motorhome. Although retired and reasonably free from financial restraints, other demands on our time, particularly medical appointments although mostly routine, do keep us grounded too regularly when we could be on a cruise with friends or doing one or two far flung trips we still hope to do.
