Drove from Calgary to Banff then onto Jasper to catch Rocky Mountaineer train. Viewed the lakes and Glaciers on the way.
What a treat so wonderful views, Elk at the front door, coyote running wild Eangles ect.
Whale watching later we hope.

Off tomorrow for 3 nights at Ferry Meadows Peterborough, then 7nights at Eye Kettelby lakes Melton Mowbray. For a bit of fishing and visit Oakham and a nice walk at Rutland Water.

Bit of a result, booked a couple of nights in a Scottish Premier Inn with a Brewers Fayre attached. Two nights two people for the grand total of £54 that is £27 a night. We use Premier Inns a fair bit and this is the best price to date....

Now retired don't need to worry about weekends.
At the moment at Thirsk in Autogas 2000 leisure parking area, tomorrow morning getting 2 Alugas bottles fitted. Slowly getting the MH to the state I want it.
Tomorrow going to Ripon for 3 nights, Parkfield campsite, walk to fountains abbey Wednesday. Look round Ripon on Thursday, wife went to uni their a long time ago.
Back home on Friday.
Next trip France for 10 days in November, first trip abroad.

Well, we failed the convoy bit, being delayed by a visitor at home, but we had a lovely G and T welcome on our arrival (I don't usually drink that early in the day , honest!) The rest went to plan...we had a great weekend, the food and wine were very good - A and A were excellent chefs, our desserts were, of course, suoerb and we ladies did a fine job of washing the dishes. As for the Rummikub, well, I enjoyed that more the second night for some reason. Those little piglets we met en route to Brockenhurst were a lovely bonus. All this almost on our doorstep....lucky us! Let's meet up again! x

Ooops... Were booked up for another Weekend.. This time over at Peasmarsh. Still relatively local, but good to get out and about. However, I have a week off coming shortly and am thinking the New Forest- have been to a cracking site before, but may attempt to mix it up a little, otherwise I will become a creature of habit.
