After a few years break from motorhoming I have bought a Hymer 574, I don't remember in my carefree middle age finding so much to do in caring for a van, in the old days I just got in and went places, now my van and I are of a certain age we both have bits that look as if they are about to drop off! I can do most of whats required and I do confess to feeling a certain inner peace when I lay under her brushing and waxoyling. There is one thing that is bugging me though, the answer is probably very simple, I,m a bit afraid of garages just at the moment, I told the OH all was in good order when I persuaded her to give me her pension to buy, so I wonder if anyone can tell me what the 'extra' radiator is that is fixed in front of the normal engine coolant one, the van is a 1999 2.5 TD Fiat Ducato base, it has air conditioning. There is also a small radiator mounted to the side

The extra large radiator is for the air con - the smaller one to one side is the turbo intercooler.

He used to, along with his Whippet friend. I lost him to Lymphoma last Christmas. We now have two Whippets.

I have 2 black labs, one has a 'healthy' diet and weighs in at 45kg, thankfully the other is the sports version....they still try and get on the beds

it could be the aircon radiator but it could also be, and to me more likely, the turbo intercooler radiator.

See how big the hoses are.....
very small bore metal hoses = aircon.
similar size to cooling hoses = turbo intercooler

Thanks again Tony & Pappajohn, it's condenser, tracked one down, think I have an aircon chap to fit it, fingers crossed

Just to tidy radiator query in this post, changed both the condenser and the engine cooling radiators, bought both from e bay, condenser very sturdy good quality, other one from same suppliers is a bit flimsy looking by comparison but good price and 2 year guarantee (I know try and claim!!) Patterns were slightly different and had to fabricate a couple of fixings, was not surprised, overall happy.
