We intend visiting Italy in September and have a rough route planned.
I have searched threads on Italian travel and it seems that some of the roads are bad.
Our van is 7 mtrs
We would like a scenic route so would like to avoid toll roads and dangerous ones. We plan to go:
Reims - Dijon
Dijon - Torino
Torino - Genova
Genova - Livorno
Livorno - Siena - Lake Trasimeno
Then back via Garda or Como
As you can see we are in no hurry but would like to know if anybody has experience of these places/routes.
If these roads are too bad we will have to rethink and use motorways/ tolls
