Arrived at our second home late yesterday evening. Took four days to get here, later than usual as had to stay back in England for colonoscopy following two abnormal results on poo tests. Thankfully all clear, so can now relax on our winter away.

Traffic through France was better than expected, a lot clearer than past trips down. Travelling via Somport Tunnel we expected to see some snow, but there was only a light sprinkling very high up. There were some remnants left from previous falls but these were very few and far between. On entering Spain we were blessed with sunshine after having miserable dull days with quite a bit of fog through France.

We then had the sun follow us all the way to Portugal. After a lovely lay-in this morning we awoke to more sunshine, so hot at times we were basking in T shirts and getting a bit too warm to be comfortable, but not as hot as it was when we were here in the summer, thankfully.

Now to enjoy the next four months in a lovely spot with a bit of exploring in between with some great friends.

Christmas Day being spent with family, then a New Year bash with some friends bring it on.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all.

Glad everything is OK, it's a wonderful feeling getting back, bet it was hot when you left.
Look forward to catching up but I think you might have gone by the time we get to Portugal, that's if we get there this year. :xlaugh:
Zippy looks happy, don't forget keep an eye out for those catapillers.
Take care and remember Rome wasn't built in a day. :xrofl:

Happy Christmas. :xThumb: Bob and Janie.

Hi Nigel & Pamala. :)

Long time no hear or see. :(

Glad to see that you are on your winter sun travels, and have arrived safely. (y)
Despite us having the will and the time now, to travel south to the sun for the first time in winter, unfortunately, health isn't on our side, so it's not to be this time round. :(

Have a great time out there, especially with family for Christmas, and with friends for the New Year.

Cheers for now,

Jock & Rita. :)
