    Good on them,

Maybe other councils will learn from this.

More a case of learning from constructive approaches by motorhomers :)

I've been corresponding with Brian Flower for several years now. He told me about this last week but I was sworn to secrecy as it hadn't then been passed (y)

I just sent my thanks too. Bit of a long trek from Norfolk to Blackpool but hopefully other councils will follow suit.

I've just been in touch with Brian and apparently somebody let the cat out of the bag a bit early but it should be OK :)

    That's all good news.

Would knowledgeable people on here say some of those car parks are better than others ? ie in terms of noise, security or closeness to attractions ?

Apart from the restricted South Car Park, the car parks are all within my downloadable POI set which (using the .kml file) you can look at in Google Earth. Also, the post codes are provided on the council web pages for the individual car parks and you can use them to look on Google Maps.

All the car parks are reasonably close to the front. I've never used any overnight but I would expect they can get a bit noisy.

It's called desperation, the place has been dying for years. But from our point of view a good move if you want to sleep in a car park in Blackpool.

On the other hand the Pleasureland car park in Southport is brilliant, with facilities and Southport still has some life left in it, in fact the council have the park by the lake in great shape.

Give it one summer season and it will be cancelled due to abuse.

It's a long time since I've been to those car parks but it might get 'Interesting' during the various 'Wakes weeks' when the workers return to their coaches after a day out.

Brighton Brian? Do you mean Southport?
I can't see why John. It has worked down the road in St Annes.

    Just sent my thanks thus;

There’s a seaside resort called Blackpool,
Which is noted for fresh air and sun,
    And Mr and Mrs Ramsbottom,
Went there in their Camper for fun,

They thought they’d have trouble with parking
As like as they’d found everywhere
    But Blackpool Council were different
And showed that they really did care

So t’Ramsbottoms spent time up the Tower
And in café’s and Pubs, they spent well
All because the good Burgers of Blackpool
Knew they’d got something to sell

So thank you to those who decided
Thanks be to one and to all
Though Blackpool I know is in Lancs.
This Tyke might just make a call

Best I could do in the last half and hour
(and I did give my apologies to Marriot Edgar)
