I'm a newbie, did have a Caravan about 8 years ago.
I can't understand my weight plate. it says:
3000kgs
then
4600kg
then
1. 1600
then
2. 1650.
Does this mean that by adding 1 & 2 together and deducting it from 4600 mean I can carry 1350kg.
Confused.................

3000 is your maximum gross weight in kilos

4600 is your max train weight ie including any trailer

1600 is the max weight of front axle

1650 is the max weight of rear axle

The sum of the axle weights is always greater than the max permissible weight of the vehicle to allow for loading differences.

The weight you can carry is the actual weight of the empty vehicle subtracted from the maximum gross weight.

Since 2005
1600 and 1650 are front and rear max axle weights to allow for uneven loading.

If the rear is at its max of 1650kg the front axle can only weigh a max of 1350kg as you cannot exceed the vans max weight of 3000kg.
3000 - 1650 = 1350
