The first thing you need to do is to fill up with fuel, fill up with water, load up with personnel, and then go to a weighbridge. This is the only way of finding out. Figures from manufacturers include / exclude a whole host of items, and it's almost impossible to work out what your payload actually is.

An explanation is here: Link Removed

Hi Indi,

look under the bonnet for the VIN plate....a small aluminium plate around 3" x 2" with numbers stamped on.

there should be 4 rows of numbers...top one should be the gross vehicle weight.....3500kg or maybe 3850kg or anywhere in between.
that is your maximum loaded (gross) weight.

next one may be up to 5500kg...that is the max vehicle weight plus loaded trailer.

the next two are axle weights.

check the gross weight on the plate then go to a weighbridge and get weighed with nothing on board except 3/4 tank of fuel and yourself.

the difference between the plated gross weight and the actual weighbridge weight, which should be lower, is your payload (which will include any passengers as well as your belongings, water, gas bottles, tv etc.)

expect between 350kg and 650kg as an average.
