Heading on this route tomorrow, first leg to Spain by way of my Mum. Anyone know of a convenient weighbridge en-route please?

There is Autobreak at Colchester Hythe Quay. Used to be a tenner but think they increased it a bit now.

Just off the A14 after Bury St Edmunds is a turning to Woolpit there you will find a Grain company...Jewers postcode is IP30 9RH. They have a website which will give you more details www.jewersgrain.co.uk.
They charged us £8.00 last year and we had print out of both axles and Gross. They were Very helpful

If you amend your route slightly and make for Newark/A1 there is a scrapyard that I use just off the A46, Briggs Metals.

Make for the roundabout junction of A46/A617, take the second exit on the roundabout (A616) and the scrapyard is a few hundred yards on the left. £5 for the weigh. After that return to the A46, onto the A1 and off you go.

Copdock Mill, Ipswich. GPS 52.03518º 1.09144º
About a mile off your route.

Turn off A14 and on to the A12 at Copdock roundabout, south of Ipswich. At first slip off A12 (about 1 mile south of Ipswich) go under the A12 and on to the 'old A12' as though you are going back towards Ipswich. About a mile down there the mill is on the RHS clearly marked. Drive straight in, past the retail shop, down the slope towards the far buildings and straight on to the weigh bridge. The office is immediately in front of you.
I think it was £8 or £9 last time we went there for total weight and separate axle weights all printed out for you.
Always very friendly and helpful.

Richard.

We visited here today Richard and it was exactly as you described; couldn't have been easier and as you say all very friendly and helpful. Many thanks!

How was the weight?
Did you have to dump the Memsahib to stay legal?

Have a good trip to Spain.

Richard.

We're rated at 3.400 and came in at 3.360 which is good except rear was heavy at 1920 (rated 1900) and front light at 1440 (rated 1700). They told me the weighbridge rounds up by 20kg so I could be over by only a kilo!
I need to try to shift some weight forward but not easy!
Not enough to get to worried about though:)
