:clap2:after a long, long search we just might have found it. It's old. But it's adapted and we are excited. Going to look at it at the weekend. Trying hard not to make too many mental plans, but........

That is frigging awrsum!!! Love it. You tread carefully with the buyer and if they are legit at that price any issues can be rectified. *

    * I'd put 5k cash in his hand and gauge his reaction..!

It's like us, getting on in years, a bit tatty round the edges, nothing fancy, but it will do the job it's designed to do. :D

Really chuffed, sounds great, I imagine it doesn't have P A Steering so you'll need to drive it. Try out everything, make sure there is enough room in and around the WC, fingers crossed for you.

The best bit is that it was converted from New so it won't suffer any botched jobs.

We took our Grandson down to uni at Plymouth this weekend just past, and saw so many motorhomes going down and coming back, we were so envious, then driving past all the lovely places we have already seen, just made us crave the lifestyle even more. Think it's that and how far it is to Plymouth that finally persuaded us to get on with it. Then low and behold, this one appeared. Kharma? I hope so.

There is a place in Stratford-Upon-Avon that do Power Steering on these engines (I think) for about £600. Let me know if of interest and I'll do some digging

    Very true.

From the pictures, it looks as if the 240v system might have been added later. Surface wired & a socket that looks even older than the van. I wouldn't let that put you off though - easy to get it checked & sorted once you have got it.

There are a couple of funsters right on it's doorstep. @Gerri19 (& @Ockerron) plus another who lives close - forgotten who but Gerri will remember. I don't know if you or any of them know what to look for in an older vehicle, but they may know someone local who does. It's often worth getting someone who isn't caught up in the excitement of it all to have a dispassionate look - we all know how easy it is to let the heart take over in cases like this! That's part of the fun, but always best to avoid a real lemon.

If I remember rightly, @cruiser has an Eldiss on the same base vehicle. Might be worth picking his brains for any key points to watch.

If it all checks out - it looks just the job. :)

We have no idea what to look for so if someone would be willing to have a look see we would be very grateful. @Gerri19 or @Ockerron would you be willing to check it over for us? As to the power steering, that would be good, but we need to turn it into an automatic first, so hubby can drive it. That is the first priority for sure. I like the thought of working on it and updating it.

My two are Cockerpoos. Max is the black and white one and Phoebe the chocolate one, they come in all colours. But are lovely, lovely dogs with wonderful temperament. They will travel with us so you might meet them one day.

well it looks great but be certain that everything especially the lift is working well and has been serviced correctly. The seller is a bit optimistic on price though, thinking an adapted vehicle is worth more. in reality only a very few people would even consider buying it. I have seen newer converted vans really struggle to sell. one took nearly 2 years and sold for less than a non converted equivalent

as for the old talbot base vehicle, they are pretty reliable but had a few common issues. check the gear selector is smooth and accurate. a kit is or was available to fix it and transforms it in a couple of hours. RUST kills most of these vans and new body panels are hard to obtain. still a few specialist breakers about though, but parts are expensive by comparison

please dont think I am trying to put you off, on the contrary I would love this to be the right van for you. beat down the price though so you can use the saving to update and maintain it

nearly forgot to mention check the age of the tyres. if over 5 years old they need replacing
