So I have a few hoses and various connectors and a watering can , so thought I had it all covered untill I went to my last tap this morning.
( in ireland )
It looked just like a standard outside water tapwith the threads on it ? so I got my screw on hose lock connector out to screw onto it.. that's when I realised the diameter of the threaded tap end was smaller . like but nearly a centimeter . so just like a mini tap.. , so what type of adapter do I need for this type of tap ( assuming it's common ) if not then I'll probably never neet one again and not need said connector , but if so I'd like to me prepared :D

We carry all three of the Hoselock sizes Bart.. They aint expensive nor heavy so all angles covered ( until you get one without any thread.. but we have that covered too with an adapter that has a rubber bit and a jubilee type clip with a wing nut affair on it )

Possibly called half inch bsp tap adapter? I think normal one is threequarter inch bsp.

Use your watering can. I hate fiddling around with all those connectors, especially if there's a queue at an aire.

That's what I ended up using.but thinking if it was raining ,the connecting hose and forgetting for 5 mins .better than standing in rain with watering can for 5 mins

I think that one only goes to a larger thread inside the white bit, might wrong though

even when you have them you need to know where you put them, couldn't find ours for toffee when in new forest the other week, found it when home
We have a carrier bag full of all sorts of connectors and bits and bobs that are water related :)

3/4 inch BSP is the usual one. We also have 1/2" and 1". You can get a combined 3/4" and 1/2" one like that shown above of a £1 in B&Q. We go for their cheap blue coloured ones because we are always leaving them on taps so they don't last long.

You can never have too many adaptors but we were thrown by one in France this year. It needed a male to male type connector but not the usual one. Poking about inside the wretched thing I worked out it needed an adapter with two different diameters, the end one being quite narrow. Still no idea what it required.

Some taps don’t have a thread at all! I use a rubber “catch-all” for those (and a strap to keep the button pressed) and anything else I might come across.

Watering cans are a fine alternative but not so good if you’re paying for it, especially if it’s timed.

We've got the 'piggy back' ones above but also an even smaller one that we've had to use a couple of times in France so we have a LOT of bits and bobs!

Thanks all for the links, i'll have to wait untill I get home untill I'm able to view them , as atm using my mifi and three sim down in southern ireland i'm unable to view any "secure" links and when I click on them on my phone the tab opens then closes . and when I try to connect to even say bt Web site for my account it says connection not secure and has a red link through the https , so is that a setting within the mifi unit ? or is it because I am outside the UK ?

Its probably your browser that's stopping you looking at links etc. I find that on my laptop if I right click with the mouse and then select 'open in new tab' they'll open, wheres just clicking on them with the left mouse button won't.

Don't understand why you are connecting to a bt website to view your Three account.
Have you removed the restrictions on your Three account, never had any problems with the Fun website all over Europe but have been blocked from UK.gov sites Three seems to think they are porn (not far wrong).

Edit: I take it you have a Three data sim & BT mobile account.

Sorry Bart, I've never had BT so can't say what's wrong with that.
