    Can anyone help please.
When I have the tape turned to hot and start to run the water the pump doesn't start immediately and runs for about 5 secs after the tap is turned off. The cold tap is ok. The van is 8 months old. One other thing we accidentally ran it with no water in, only for a few secs though.

    Sounds fine to me.
If there is pressure in the boiler, as there will be, that pressure needs to reduce before the pump can run.
Same turning the tap off...the system needs to build pressure before the pump will turn off.

If its a diaphragm pump which I suspect it is, then running without water is not a problem...they are designed to run dry.

The pump itself is definitely OK - it's the same pump for both hot and cold.

Agree with pappajohn, it's down to pressure, hot water builds pressure.. Sounds ok
