Hey all my Carver Cascade Rapid II is not firing up
im getting a red light next to the flame icon on the control panel.
The book suggests an air lock & to repeatedly turn it on which I have been doing all weekend.

Any ideas of what to do..................................

Ignitor board or gas valve failure.

I guess you need to get into the works to see if theres a spark and check for gas at the burner.

Swap LPG cylinders sometimes works, especially if tank is low.

Assume you've not done what we did one weekend and left the cover on :doh:

Yes, if that is still on, then you will get the symptoms you described

Do you have a window open over the exhaust as that will stop it working as it has an inhibitor switch.

If you guys mean a separate cover that goes over the vent I do not have one, the only cover is the actual vent, I can go & unscrew it.

Try the gas regulator. We had the same symptoms in spain. Fridge and hob still working but red light when trying to get hot water. Replaced regulator and bingo!
    Thanks to @seanoo

Have you had it lit before? Simple things like gas isolator etc. Can you hear it trying to light?
