We were chatting about water filters last night.
I thought it might save us carrying lots of bottled water which we tend to do for drinking.

So water filters yes or no ? And if so which one ?

Hi Beachcaster. We have never bothered with anything except what comes out of the tap,
Wherever we are, here or france.. We do carry water puritabs that I put in a couple of times a year... Never had a problem at all.. so its up to you really. Mitch..

We don't have a water filter and have had no problems anywhere. Puritabs or equivilant in the tank occasionally seems to do the trick.

If you fill up with dubious water (pond or ditch) then a filter will be essential something like naturepure, but not really needed if you only fill up with drinking water.
Bottled water usually has more bugs in it than tap water due to lack of chlorination, which is why they recommend not using it for babies.:thumb:

hi i use a berfenfeld system by doulton. but in fact dont use it unless i know i have filled up from rivers etc .i have to sometimes if really in the wild. but as others have said tapwater works . the berkemfeld uses a ceramic filter with silver inlay . silver is the worlds best purifier of water. as used by the world health organisation.
