Hi
I am going with my 2 children to the in-laws 25/07 and wondered if anyone could recommend a lovely campsite close to a beach on the way down from Calais - will be travelling the Rouen, Evereux, Chartres, Orleans route a couple of days later.

I have trawled french sites but cannot find what I am after - bascially somehting to keep my 8 and 14 year olds busy!!!

Many thanks for any help

Thought I would bump this for you.

Can't help with sites though.

Are you looking for somewhere close to Calais?

I think there is one in Wimeraux ( sp?), but I haven't been there.

I am sure someone can help.

We usually stay at a site in Guines which isn't by the coast but it does have a little pool

Hi
Many thanks for your replies - I am looking for nice sites traveling south from Calais ideally say around 2 hours or so away.

Thanks again though and cheers for the bump

I reckon you will struggle with those plans.
Domaine de Drancourt at Saint Vallery Sur Somme.
Its not on your route, not really south, not particularly nice, hasnt got a beach but should be good for the kids that time of year and not too far of a detour!

If I was you I would have a look at the canvas holiday/euro camp site, they seem to cater more for the kids with on site activities ect.

That is great thanks but do they allow motorhomes / camping?
I thought they only had their own accommodations

1994 and beyond...
why not just press on, use Aires for overnight stops, until you get south where weather warmer and nicer ...

Hi mike. I thought they were for statics and fixed tents but we used a couple on our way to st tropez and again on the way back.the advantage is that they do cater for the kids.

I seem to remember there is a campsite on the right when driving towards the promenade at Fort Mahon de Plage. Cant remember the name of the site but a wonderful beach for families
