Ah, forgot it is now what used to be the RAC rally! last competed on that in 1980.
It was a 4 day nationwide event in those days :RollEyes:

Think it might have been 5!! Great days with great names to match ....
Hannu Mikkola, Ari Vatanen, Marku Alen, Juha Kankkunen, the original "Stig" (Blomqvist) .... it's more of a rally sprint these days.

Last time I was there was in 1994 where I was servicing for a French crew. Going to bed at 1am and on the road by 6am each day, taking in England, Scotland and wales. Nowadays it's become to over organised for spectating, "can't park here" "can't spectate there" and charge a fortune to see very little. Rallying used to be a flask, sandwiches, park up on the verge and trek through the woods and find a good spot and enjoy Motorsport at its best.
