    At last we are off to north Wales for a couple of weeks
    only took 4 years to get hear, wife usually finds cheap flight
    to somewhere hot so we have to go there, this year i throw
    my dummy out insisted on touring.

    Anyway we are leaving Eastleigh Fri about 10pm, heading for
    chirk, can anybody advise stopover / layby easy to find, where
    i can get a few hours sleep. Dont want to leave sat morning as
    i always stay up late prefer to just get there.

    Anywhere within 1/2 hour of Chirk would be good.

    Cheers:thumb::thumb:

    There's a picnic spot on the A5 just west of Shrewsbury at Montford Bridge. I'll have a look see whether its open all night. Otherwise, pull off the Nesscliffe bypass and in to the layby there.

    See you there. Leaving north east hampshire friday 0900 hrs. Havent got a clue where we are staying yet but between barmouth and anglesey is where we are aiming. Do a search within the forum search at the top and put in "north wales" and search the posts on there for some interesting stuff and cheap sites. I m going to print them out and take them with me !

    There is a nice camp site in Montford Bridge. Cant remember the name of it. It has a very nice pub on the site and they do really nice meals.

    The site is on a rivers edge and not far from Chirk.

    Correct, well done Martin. Another bonus with this site is that the bus stops outside the site and because its in England the bus pass can be used.

    Just a thought could be a strange one, how about the Roudee Car Park in Chester, you can pull in there after 6pm cost you £1.50p until 9am next morning, from there you are only just 3/4 of a hour from Chirk. (Just check there is no racing on the date you want to be there).
