A few people have asked where you can stay prior to getting the ferry from Portsmouth and as I was walking the dog there the other day I thought I'd snap a couple of pics of the camp-site down on the beach in southsea, which is just a couple of miles from the port, for anyone who may not have been there.

It was a bit overcast so I apologise for the picture quality in advance.
As, has been pointed out before, there is a "Morrisons" supermarket on the way in to Portsmouth, if you come in on the A2030, and a "Sainsbury" (with petrol station),
on the same road just north of A27 junction.
The beach in the picture is accessable directly from the camp-site and is dog friendly,
there is also a nudist beach alongside.
Warning, if your dog is the type that steals sausages from your BBQ you might want to keep an eye on him around here !
It might be prudent to ring in advance if you have a big outfit but there are usually a few in there at any one time so I don't think it would present a problem.
Any questions, I will be happy to help.
