Hello
We are new to this site and to campervaning.
We are going to Villasol in Benidorm for Christmas! probably arriving on the 19th December.
We understand from the website that they have cable tv, so we are thinking about taking a tv.
Has anyone done this?
Also can anyone recommend anywhere good for Christmas dinner?
Is there anyone else going there this year?
Look forward to your replies.

At this rate it will be full when we get there on the28/29th December :roflmto:
The tv reception is ok. You need an Ariel lead to plug into the site signal and it's on an analogue signal.

Make sure it's a long one!! (Ariel lead that is):thumb:

You can buy a 10mtr lead in the Chinese bazzar shops for a few euros.. Not expensive..
BUT ref Villasol, you need a TV with Analogue tuner..!! Some of the new TV's have Digital only...

Villasol

Thanks for all your replies.
Christmas dinner looks great in the Villasol bar.
What is Christmas Eve like in Benidorm?
Also do you think we should bring our awning, we have a safari like room?
Another question, are there washing facilities for clothes and will they dry?
Really thinking about drying towels and washing and drying jeans etc. Hope too hear from you soon.

Lots of vans have their safari rooms up. However last year we were troubled by very strong winds in Jan & Feb and a lot of people took them down. Some were damaged so be aware.:thumb:

Chrismas Eve is great. Very 'Tropical' in fact :party2:

New Years is celebrated twice :Eeek: UK then Spain.
Yes bring your awning.
Washing facilities are available, everything will dry. It was sunny and warm nearly everyday when we were there Dec / early Jan.

It can be windy .....

Find a funster, look around the vans for the slimey stickers, see if they have a spare and stick one on your way.... Soon attracts other funsters, just get the wine ready :winky:

A 'slimely sticker' is a typo error which should have been
'smiley sticker' like this  for your motor home wind screen - it's now packed in our van for you..... see you soon. :thumb:

I don't know this years price, but last year we paid €30 for 30 days.
Daily and weekly rates were not as favorable, I think it was €10 for a week and €2 per day. The Villasol service was not very good, we found another internet provider for the same price with a much better service and signed up with them.

Brisey.

I remember the Villasol wifi being a bit hit and miss on past trips and also slow...

Have just posted this on another forum, may be an alternative.
http://en.orange.es/mobile-broadband/pay-as-you-go-plans/internet-movil-2-gb-month-plan/index.html

If you use with an unlocked MiFi then you can use share with friends (if you want) and also you will have access while travelling through Spain not just at the campsite..
I am off to town later will have a look for any other deals...

Wifi is 30 Euro a month and was brilliant when we were there last week. Get on a pitch with line of site to the WIFI antenna's on the toilet roofs. :thumb:

I always stay at Armanello campsite which is right behind Villasol, you turn of the top road in to the camp 12 euros per night including free WiFi and hook up TV you just need a cable and return your TV in analogue to pick up BBC & ITV no sky box needed.

Regards
Ray

Christmas dinner at Villasol - last year - see you there!

Broken Link Removed[/QUOTE

was this actually on Christmas day and if so how much did it cost you carol

It did'nt cost me anything - Andrew had to pay :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: :party2:

Seriously, it was Christmas Eve. I cannot remember the actual price, Brisey or MikeandCarolyn will come along soon and might remember the price - maybe €20 each? It included music, disco and a bottle of wine. That plate was just the main course - their were four courses, we all had a ball. :thumb:

This is a photo of Christmas day - we spent the day on the beach
