    Hi,
The veneer facing on some of our cupboard doors/bathroom door seems to be coming loose where it wraps around the sides.
Has anyone else had this problem?
The van is 2001 so we expect some wear and tear, what do funsters think is the best adhesive to stick the edges back down with. I don't have a good track record with super glue !!

    Any help much appreciated
    Steve

Get some brown paper or plain paper, place over lifted parts and apply pressure hot iron, this should melt the original glue and refix.

Evo-Stik contact/impact adhesive is probably what you need, you put a light film on both surfaces and when touch dry bring the surfaces together, sticks like do do to a duvet:thumb:

If using the iron doesnt work....try the same technique but put some "wonderweb" between the two pieces of wood first...

You used to be able to get "animal glue" on like a roll which was very thin and did the same job but I haven't seen it in years...

    Hi
Are your cupboard doors veneered? The doors may look grained but could possibly mdf with a melamine reverse with a foil that wraps around the front and along the edges. If so it could be bad news. The industry has had a problem with the foil coming loose after a few years. It was adhesive problem reacting with the mdf. If this is the case you can only bodge them up. The foil will eventually come off.
Sorry if this is the case.
    Stuart
