Vango Attar 400 driveaway awning (1 Viewer)

Hi, anyone else had issues with this?

Bought one and the "driveaway awning" does not come with any means of connecting it to the MH!
ON speaking to Vango I was told I needed to buy a figure of 8 connector kit (£25)
I did this and the connectors broke as they are made of cheap plastic.
Amazingly CS at Vango said that:

"We are sorry to hear that your figure of 8 has been broken however, I can assure you that as this is an optional extra item it does not affect your awning therefore is not covered under the awnings warranty."

The fact that the ruddy awning is not a driveaway awning makes this quote a total joke!
The awning needs aluminium connectors or preferably a long zip like on a folding camper awning.

Anyone any advice on these awnings as the only other way to connect is by flinging straps over the roof!!

I am amazed Vango sell such a misleading product!

Fig 8 stuff I've had off ebay is proper job industrial strength. Don't ask for a link, it was long ago.

How tight did you have section?

Did they break whilst fitting to the fiamma?

IT connects to a c frame on the van. IT was not tight and they broke while fitting it. Vango are now saying it is NOT a driveaway awning even though it is sold as one.
