i am trying to tax my van from the 1st of April (at present its on sorn )
every time I try to tax it on line it wants to start the tax from the first of march,? Does anyone know, do I have to wait till 1st April or can I tax it before the end of the month ,

I would wait until April 1st, it could well be because its sorned

I put my car on a SORN when we went away over the winter.
I had the same problem you are facing when I tried to get a Tax disc for January in December. I had to wait until January ticked around before the system would allow me to proceed.

There is no reason this should be so and, hopefully the current system will be revised when the Tax Disc becomes obsolete in October.

Yes Peter is right you can only tax a sorn vehicle on the first of the month so if you try now it will tax you from the 1st march so you will have to wait until 1st April to tax it from the 1st April. Regards Garry Flatpackchicken
