My brother told me a while ago he bought a wifi extender with a window mount from Amazon for £25, said it worked really well. I've been looking this morning and I think this is the one.. It has some great reviews on Amazon, has anybody got one? Are they any good?

As this is my first post, I'll say Hi All! I retired early to Spain 8 years ago, bought our Rapido 646F 2 years ago having had several caravans in the UK.

Jim, I bought this version
a year ago which has double the power of the one you're looking at, with 2 antennas, and it works really well. I only ever use the larger antenna, and it really pulls in the wi-fi signals from anywhere on site.
Naturally it costs a bit more, but I think its worth the extra.

Seems from the reviews they had problems with Windows 7.....

I think this is the one.

One downside, it's USB so no use for your iPad.

Other bit of caution, mobile phones with a few mW of power are suspect for causing health problems, this one is 1000mW. I'd worry about having that much energy running full time near me or my family. A weatherproof one outside the metal skin of the MH has to be safer.

I really don't know.

The phone industry has blustered over that danger of microwaves for years, completely harmless they say. But still reports are around of heavy phone users, especially kids, having problems.

It's better to be safe than sorry.

A microwave cooker is 600W and more, it will cook a chicken in minutes. 2W of microwave near your head all day, no thanks.

Hi Jim, we have had this model for a couple of years and it does work very well. We use it in Spain where WiFi is always a bit iffy.

I use a WiFi connect with suckers on the outside of the motorhome, with the cable through the widow to my Alpha.

This gives me secure WiFi for all our iPhones Ipads and laptops

Borrow it at Shepton Jim and see how you get on with it

Alfa wifi booster

I bought one this year and on a site in the Isle of Wight I pulled in about 10 wifi stations when I had none without it. Good old BT Wifi! Would not be without it or the BearExtender equivalent for the new MacBook. Brilliant!

I have one - it works well. Typically, I get 2-3 bars more than without it so a weak 1 bar signal gets boosted to 3/4 bars.

hi. i use an alfa have for a few years when abroad.
last summer i bought one of these Link Removed
think its either a copy of the alfa or something . but it works just as well.
last winter we tried seeing which one was better but they really are equal. we could swap the rubber antenna from one to the other and it really made no difference but at the cheaper price its great.
