Just come back in the house from taking the MH to a weightbridge, all tanks were full - 180 ltrs of water, full tank of fuel (80ltrs) x2 Solar Panels, x2 Leisure Batteries, spare wheel in the garage with me in it 3500kg on the nose, so it looks like i have definitely got to get our van plated up :( as we are on the look out for some ebikes.

Thanks to all for the interest. Time to go speak to some tyre fitters.

Apparently not, in the cold light of day.

I think the 'van has 6J rims. According to the prophets, it won't take a 225 tyre.
Back to the drawing board.
Prophets being who?

My 16's are 225 on a 6J ask @Brian and Jo

I think you'll find that that says the same for 16" but clearly Fiat don't agree.
Martin's van is the same

The main two problems are. ( 1) You increase every gear ratio bya small amount. Can cause problems in pulling away in 1st gear uphill when fully loaded. ( 2 ) Clearence on full lock front wheels when fully loaded. Flexi break pipes are a problem on some vans when suspension is fully depressed under heavy breaking.

Just noticed that the link I gave has tyre pressures against axle weights for each tyre, so quite handy as well.

Martin, trouble is I can't see any figures for the Vanco Camper contact, the reference for which ends with a CP. Most motorhomes have those fitted. Quick glance suggests the recommended pressures are different for the same size tyre.

Good point, you will have to use the fourseasons instead then, better tyre anyway;)

The pressures may well be different as the fourseasons are a higher load rated tyre than the camping, certainly in my size anyway.

Not wanting to replace tyres on a 5 month old van yet. And I have the recommended pressures for mine direct from Continental anyway. I was just making the point in case others tried to find them.
