Hi all.
The built-in satnav on my 2012 Autotrail keeps telling me that the maps are out of date and I need to update. As the thing is built in I'm not sure of the procedure. The vehicle is new to us and I don't have the relevant paperwork for the satnav.
Any help gratefully received.
Nik.

Sat nav updates are usually purchased from the manufacturer and supplied on usb stick or dvd.

Does the system give you any clue as to the manufacturer when it starts up?

My Autotrail Delaware 2015 has built in satnav (tomtom), you have to put an empty usb stick into the unit and then go into the options on the satnav and say update or similar. It then prepares the USB with all the files it needs for you to then plug it into your pc to check to see if there are any updates for it from tomtom. Not sure on the earlier models though but the maps can also come on SD Cards to further complicate the issue.

Surprise anyone uses the built in ones as they are pretty useless compared to the proper ones, although i appreciate something is better than nothing.

More than toes wet now!
Assuming it's an ELE unit you take the SD card out of the unit, put it in a pc \ laptop and update online at Naviextras (I think). Alternatively, buy a standalone unit with lifetime map upgrades as it would be cheaper in the long run.

This is the instruction manual for the "later" version (13ELE2000) of the standard fitment unit. You may have a 12ELE2000

Mine is also a built in unit part of the 1600 pound media pac.
Fitted to 2013 autotrail dont bother with up grade etc as it will cost you
on there web site €89. The system is crap always going wrong.
Just buy a tomtom with free updates.
