I have just installed Ubuntu onto my desktop, its running FF and it seems to be even faster that Chrome. Now if I can get Skype to run on it I may give windows the boot.

Has anyone got Skype to run on Ubuntu?

I have been playing with centOS on an old machine, and its certainly runs quicker than windows and it runs FF. Not sure about Skype, I will have a go at installing it

Skype working; now the chat room

OK, I have just had a successful Skype video connection with JJ so Skype is now up and running, I am now trying to find the correct plug-in so that I can get the "Chatroom" to load.

    Skype

Open up the Synaptics package manager and type in skype, it should be in the repositories. It's at version 2 but it works very well.
