I.m sure this subject has been discussed before but!!
My Auto Sleeper has CP rated tyres on all 4 running tyres but a C rated tyre as a spare. In the event off a puncture it would be illegal to fit the spare as there would be 2 different tyres on one axle. I´m sure you are all aware of this fact. However I have checked around here in Spain and am surprised to see many vehs with C rated tyres as standard and I wonder what the insurance companys would think off this or is there no legal regulation for this?
I will take this up with Auto Sleeper when I return from Spain But my question is!!! What does CP stand for as im am just curious. still very hot here in Bennicassm:Eeek:

as long as the speed and weight ratings are the same you can use any tyre you want.

in my opinion camping tyres are a manufacturers gimmick with an inflated (no pun intended) price.

if the load and speed rating is correct then the tyre is safe

Its means a specialist tyre. 'CP' tyres carry only a single load index indicating their normal use as a single fitment.
Not usually fitted in twin rear wheel set ups, but can be.
your C rated Tyre will not be deemed illegal if its the same size as the CP rated Tyres

Took the precaution of contacting my insurers before replacing Michelin CP tyres with Vredenstein Comtrac - no problems.
