Recently there have been several posts referring to dogs. As a dog owner myself, I was just wondering what breeds fellow Funsters favour as the ideal canine companion. I have 2 Border Collies...one black and white and one white and black.

IMHO the best dogs around...........:thumb::thumb:

We have the same type of coliies.:thumb:

11yrs, but many years a tugger.
Lady Faith Finesse, a black & tan Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Coming up for 11 now, she is a bit deaf, which saddens me, because it must shut her away into her own world. Anyway, she is very beautiful and challenges any human to be able to lick their own nose, like this. :ROFLMAO: And also a picture of her being a wanton hussy.

I think it depends on the dogs roll in the family. I have a Rigdgeback with a very slight cross to a Rottweiler. Amazing dog totally loyal excellent with anyone he knows. Fantastic protector of his home and his family but he is not a lap dog you have to be aware at all times especially with strangers. Love him to bits wouldn't change him ever.:thumb:

We've got two cocker spaniels, 12 year old Alfie and the newbie Lula who arrived last Saturday whose age could be anywhere between 18 months and 4 years!

I had 5 Welsh Springer spaniels over a 30 year period but downsized.

Now got Delilah ( Bull Terrier), Jack ( Mini Bull Terrier) & Bill (Breton) we did have another 2 Bull Terriers Albert & Lilly but the sadly passed away last year within a week of each other:Sad:

Its because of Albert we got into motorhoming , spending so much time at dog shows all over the Uk decided a motorhome would be perfect.... He loved it in there :)

French Bulldog and Border Collie, each just over a year old now. Absolutely adored, wouldn't be without them. Much nicer than many people (especially the anti-dog clan)

Here's the Frenchie:

And here is the Border Collie:

We have Toby I was told when I bought him he was unique as he was the only white Rottweiler, I think I may have been scammed.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Yes he likes the heat he drags his blanket from his cage all the way to the hearth when the fire is lit and just sits there.

2 greyhounds chatter is 12 and an ex racer, Fleck has never raced but been abused, ears cut, tail cut, scan showed some damage to his brain and he has little co-ordination of his long legs who is estimated at around 9 now.
Plus 2 long term boarders Tilly a jack russel about 10 and Bailey a collie x gsd about 5, they belong to my daughter who at present is working down south for a few months and cant take the dogs to her rented place.
3 are rescue dogs and the youngest was a rehome.
Needless to say that at times my house seems manic and i seem to have grown 16 extra legs whenever i go somewhere even if its just upstairs to make beds etc, and if they think im late feeding them or walking them they gang up on me to remind me of the time in a nice but determined way

This is our Collie, "Floss" in the snow a short while ago.

Like the lawn, Floss is artificial so that we don't have to worry about her while we are away in the van.:thumb:
