We are over there now and have same problem, find a tesco and buy a cheap freeview box maybe

I'm using a portable sat dish and a freesat receiver.

the irish use a slightly different system, so you need to buy one of the local digiboxes http://www.saorview.ie/

I have the same problem here in Donegal!
I can get sound, but no picture.
Who needs TV when there is good music to listen to in bars.

They use a more advanced codec (H.264 IIRC). You need a newer freeview box that supports it. If you choose one with HD, that might possibly work, as I think UK HDTV uses H.264. However, it is best to check for the specific model before buying.

Try this. Turn on TV, then hit it very hard with an old welly, whilst shouting "JEEZ, yus bl**dy ting! If yus dont start workin, yus goin to get pluged into der 'lectric, so yer will!"

    Works for the Irish.
