Hi all

I'm new to MHF (joined last night) so excuse me if this is a bit Amateurish.

I have ordered my first motorhome (Swift Bolero FB) which is being delivered next month and I'm trying to amass various essentials such as an LCD TV, which I have found a good source for.

The thing is that I'm having difficulty finding out what size TV I can fit; 15", 19" or 22"?

The TV mounting bracket is at the foot of the bed and this swivels round to face the lounge area which is some yards away, so I'd like to fit the largest TV that I can.

Anyone with a Bolero FB who can help please?

Doug Watts

Hi and welcome to the fun. There are a couple of bolero owners on this forum that may be able to help.

Ash (Steve) has a bolero the same as yours with TV, may be worth trying to pm him for a quick answer.:thumb:

Hi All

Thanks for all the quick responses and the warm welcomes - I'm going to love this web-site!!

The FB might mean what you suggest, but it's the one with the bed permanently made up in the rear.

It only comes with a TV bracket, not a TV unfortunately.

I hope I'm doing this right

Hi All

Incidently, I attach the web address of the ebay shop that sells dual voltage LCD TV-DVD combinations at what seems to be reasonable prices = although I guarantee nothing!!

Link Removed

(I don't know if this will work )

Hi,

No makers name on that website and only six months swap warranty, after that who knows.

Better off to buy a TV from your local dealer where you can get service and back up, most LCD's are dual voltage these days 240ac/12vdc

Hi Doug,

Welcome to Fun

FB stands for Fixed Bed

I have the same model and it came with the TV the 2009 model does not.

You have a number of benefits that I do not have.....Led Bulbs, a Spare Wheel to name a few.

You will love the van.

Pm me if you have any questions

hi Doug and welcome.

personally id wait until you get the van and buy whats suitable.
you dont want to guess and find its too large.
i wouldnt bother with the 'Avtex' made for motorhome TVs...unless you aim to use all the functions...cd/dvd/mp3/card reader/shirt ironing function/tea maker/boot polisher and everything else it does::bigsmile:

much better going to Asda or similar and buying a cheaper one with a dvd player built in. 1/3 of the price and just as good.
what ever you buy make sure it runs on 12v....it will have a small, black transformer box in the power lead.
no transformer box and its 230v only.
a lot of 19" are 230v only but 15" and 17" are usually 12v.

the next 3 or 4 weeks are gonna drag but its all worth the wait.:thumb:

Thanks again to all contributors, but I still primarily need to know what maximum size TV the Bolero FB will take.

Any idea Steve? (or anyone else with a knowledge of this model)

Regards

Oooohh, I've just read Papa's posting and realised that I've not taken account of it.

Sorry mate and thank for the comments - you're most propably right about waiting and seeing, but I'm getting so excited over the prospect of this new life that . . . . .

This business of chatting to folk over the internet is also very new, so if I'm offending anyone by not clicking the 'thanks' button (which I've only just found) sorry again.

What a grovelling old twit I am!!

Regards

Second childhood Doug.

Whoops sorry Doug

If the bracket is fitted in the same place I would say 15"

This does not stop you moving the bracket so it would take bigger.

Welcome Doug :winky:

If the TV you find is only 240v you could use a small inverter, My 19" is only 60 watt so a 150 watt inverter would run it. Or you could get a 2000 watt one like I did just incase :ROFLMAO:
