I have a bog-standard directional aerial on the roof. I looked at buying a TV, but then had the idea of using my laptop. The laptop has a 17" screen and I bought a USB freeview dongle, about the size of a memory stick, for about £12 (including postage). The aerial plugs into this and, using 'Windows Media Center', I get excellent TV reception. The signal strength varies, but I've never failed, in the UK, to get the main freeview channels. As long as you have a laptop this is a very cheap alternative.

Yes lots of occasional TV watchers just use there laptop when they need a bit of TV. Makes good sense:thumb:
