we are travelling down from Yorkshire to the euro tunnel on Friday, has anybody got any up to date travel news, we have tried all the usual online sites but thought there may be funsters who have current first hand experience given all the problems that have been reported recently

Anything up to date now will be out of date by then.

Listen to Radio 2 for traffic news. Eurotunnel will text you if there is anything happening that might affect your departure.

Apart from that because it's a Friday expect all the motorways around London to be busy, especially from lunchtime onwards, and give yourself plenty of time for your journey.

Eurotunnel are usually very good at reacting to, and dealing with, delays. They have the option of running extra trains if they need to to clear delays and backlogs so once you're checked in you will move pretty quickly.

As I posted on a similar thread the other day on more than one occasion they were warning of delays when we were travelling but we actually ended up on earlier trains rather than being delayed

Yes, I forgot to mention Dartford.

The toll is £2.50 or £1.67 if you sign up for an account so it's really not worth trying to avoid.

Whatever you do, do NOT set your Satnav to avoid tolls. As a Funster discovered a little while ago if you do that it will take you through the LEZ and if your van isn't compliant it will cost you a lot more than £2.50.
