As well as the Eberspacher diesel heater we have a Truma Trumatic 4000 gas blown air system the size of a small car in the van. Ever since I have owned it, this heater will only work on the slow heat setting. It has 2 settings on the control panel and slow works fine. If I put it on high I can hear the blower pick up speed, but the the red light comes on and it shuts down. I have spoken to Truma some time ago and they say its the gas control valve. Problem is the heater is over 20 years old and they don't carry spares. Does anyone know where I can get one of these gas control valves. I have nothing else to play with now as everything is working as it should. Please help as the alternative will be watching daytime TV .

If you can't get a replacement it sounds like a strip down and clean job

I have problems with mine occasionally and I tap it with the handle end of a screwdriver when it is first lighting up and it frees it up.

I will eventually get round to stripping it down as well :shout:

Thanks Karl, is yours a 4000. I must admit gas heaters are not really my forte, but if someone built it, I can pull it to pieces.

Nope, its a 4002. I can't remember the exact model off the top of my head but it is pretty new.
