Hi - I am after a bit of technical advice.

During the recent cold weather my motorhome froze up during the night. We are prepping for a impeding holiday so the water system was fully charged up.

Thinking the "frost control" may have popped on the boiler we attempted to find it to allow a reset.

But it appeared there was not one fitted.

A phone call to Autotrail technical (They were very good by the way) confirmed that one is not fitted to our boiler in the tracker.

The Truma manual states that one is fitted:
Combi 4 E

  • 4000 W rated thermal output
  • With integrated heating elements
  • Unrivalled low power consumption
  • Comes with FrostControl, the current-free safety/drain valve featuring frost monitoring, as standard
  • Optimum distribution of warm air through four warm air outlets
  • Short water heating time, but no need to cut your shower short - enjoy!
  • Durable stainless steel water tank

So I ask do I have any frost protection for the boiler and what if not protects my boiler from frost?:thumb:

Still learning since 2010
On our Comanche there is a drain down valve next to the boiler.
There is no automatic frost control fitted.
The fact that the boiler is sited under the bed keeps it reasonably warm so draining the water when it is not in use is the main protection.

I have read on here that people have had problems with automatic valves sticking in the open position, or opening when not required to, and draining the water unexpectedly. So I am happy that I don't have one.
